Spring Fever

Tomorrow is the last day of February.  I'm so looking forward to March.  March is "green" month.  Grass, crocus leaves, lucky charms.  March is the beginning of Spring.  I can't wait for the snow to melt, the flowers to bloom and the sun to shine.
I got some Spring papers in the other day and I need to get some bright cards made!  No more dull colors for this girl! :O)  And smiles.  I've had a lot of new people in this week and some I haven't seen for a long time.  It's always good to see the smiling faces of new or returning customers.  Actually you all make me smile.
I hope you have seen all the card classes planned for March.  A lot of fun, bright and cheery colors, Fantastic projects and techniques!!  If you haven't seen them yet go to: www.thepaperhollow.com/classes.html and check them out!!  They should bring a smile to your face and brighten your day.
See you soon!!

Cut your paper 8 1/2 x 5 1/2.  Score at the 2", 4", 6" and 8" mark on your score board.  Score the other way at 2 3/4".  Cut down to the score mark on one half of the card.  Take off the cut tab of 1/2".  Glue the remaining tab to the inside of your box, this will be the back of your card.  Cut two 1" x 3" tabs and score 1/2" on each end.  Fold and glue inside your box (one going toward the front the other toward the back.  Use acetate strips or matching card stock to attach your embellishments making sure the embellishments don't hang outside the folded box.  Using double sided card stock will reduce the bulk and it shouldn't cost you any more postage as long as you don't add too many gems, etc.

Good Day

What a wonderful day.  The temp got up to around 30 and it seemed like Spring with all this warmth!! LOL  I guess Elsa came to her senses.  I hear she's going to be prissy again later this week though.
I got 2 paintings done for future classes.  I'm so excited about the Acrylic on Canvas classes.  It's a good way to express yourself in a different medium and still make cards.  You should really check them out and come in and take a class.  I supply everything you need so there is no investment for you other than the class fee.  You will not be disappointed!!
Tomorrow is another day of painting.  This time for myself.  Just a day to relax.
Have a great weekend.

Heat Embossing

With all the frigid cold we've had for the last few days I was thinking...Let's warm it up!!  Heat embossing maybe??  Well it was worth a try.
Here is a video short on how to heat emboss.  It's one of those things we usually learn first in the stamping world, but sometimes we need a refresher.  One thing for sure you need a good heat gun.

Getting Ready for Indy

Today I filled quite a few jars with Inka for our upcoming convention in Indy.  Several more to go that should keep me busy for a few more days.
We're pretty well prepared, but if you know me... I get nervous before EVERY convention.
I'm looking forward to the time with Jeff and the visit with Kaye, my cousin, and her hubby, Chris.

Easy Roses from Punches

I had the boys last night so I forgot to post yesterday, but it was time well spent with my grandbabies.
Here is a short video on how to make a rose from 4 punched flowers.  I use these a lot on my cards.  So easy and so great to make a beautiful card embellishment.  You can use a variety of punches using the same instructions for flowers with a different look.

Hope you all are having a wonderful Valentine's Day.  Here are my flowers to you.

Starform Stickers are the Bomb!!

What a good day.  I taught a Copic class in the morning and then kept busy all afternoon getting samples ready for next month.
I also took some old cards and added borders and corners and made them new again.  It amazes me what these stickers do to cards to really spruce them up!!

Published

Here is a card that will be in Scrap & Stamp Arts Magazine April 2015 edition.  I probably sent it in a good 3 years ago, since we've been in the new store 2 years and it had the old store's address on it.  I usually don't get those cards back any more since my forward expired, but someone changed the address.  Happy dance!

Card Samples

Since it was another snow day I made some videos.  This one is just some cards I have on display in the store showing how I use die cuts and punches to make my floral cards.
I did have a visit from my favorite daughter and youngest grandson.  They were in the neighborhood and stopped by for brunch.  I also cut out a lot of die cuts for future classes, flowers, doilies, etc.
Thanks for watching and following.

Snowday

Today was an "after snowday".  When it snows no one likes to go out.  We did have a couple customers who ventured in, but I had lots of time to do other things.  My sister came in and we put labels on around 500 jars. That got me prepared to finish the Inka Golds for the convention.  After she left I started cutting with the Cricut for a future class..."Hint of Color for Men".  Cards with a duck, moose and boulder hat, mustache and bowtie.  Sounds like it will be a fun class when I get them all done.  We can always use men cards!!

I hope you will Shop Local, Shop Small.
