Expanding Online

Sometimes it takes a kick in the butt to do something new, right?

Well, someone complained about my online store (I won't go into the details), so I started checking out prices of expanding it, getting an ecommerce site, etc.  MAN they are expensive for a small retail store.  I wasn't sure how I would swing it.  BUT Jeff had suggested looking into SquareUp's site.  I didn't even know they had one.  We use them for credit card processing at the store and on the road, but a online store??  Yep, they have one and I'm lovin' it!!

I'm in the process of putting ALL the Groovi products onsite.  It's quite a job and I'm about half way through.  It gives so many options my current store doesn't.  Well I shouldn't say current cuz I've already unplugged the one on my website and linked it to the new store!!

Everything is Groovi!!

It's been a busy show season but we are finally done and looking forward to more events "in" the store than "out".
The Groovi plates have been VERY popular.  I was published on the CardMaker Magazine Blog (http://www.cardmakermagazine.com/blog/) November 2.  
We have over 50 Groovi plates in stock and I've been teaching classes.  I'm also starting a Groovi Design Club in January, where if you sign up in the online store you will get a plate, card kit and instructions.  It's so people here in the states can do Club without all the exchange fees and extra postage required from the UK.

I had to move inventory around just to make room for all the new plates that came in on Tuesday.  I've even got the latest Linda Williams designs!! (not my friend Linda, just the same name).
It's really been a Groovi time here and there are still more to come.

It was quite an event!

It's been a few months since I posted, but I've had a lot on my mind and plate.  Have lots of events planned for the store and too many things going on at once. ;O)  It's a good thing.

Yesterday we had a Private Party Sale event.  It was Hawaiian themed and we handed out leis and had pineapple, mandarin oranges and cherries for dessert.  Here are some of the photos!!

The Stamp N Scrap Resale was last weekend and it was a huge success.  Everyone I talked to did good and had a good time.  I bought some items for an upcoming event.  I didn't go overboard this year!!

Feelin' Groovi

So this weekend I got together with my friend Vikki and we created four cards to take to conventions to show what the new plates can do!!  Laura will be demo'ing them but she couldn't play with us on Sunday, she had to work her real job.

The Imitator video

Today was a good day.  The Rios came over for dinner and then we went to see the boys.  Drew turned 11 on Friday, so Papa and I went to give him his gift and get ice cream.... well, lemon ice from Culver's.  His favorite.
Laura and I ran to the store to do this video about the stamp positioner I make and sell.  It works really good, just like the expensive ones on the market right now. No fancy name, no fancy color, just simple and inexpensive.

The Imitator

So I watched a video on youtube on how to make your own stamp positioner like the one that is going for $45 and $60.  Then I seen one that used an empty DVD case.  I searched EVERY WHERE for them and could not find them.  Just so happened Laura had gotten some online and had a few left over.  I made one for myself and one for her.  Then made a few for the store.  I also put them in my Etsy store.
AMAZING...they are only $10!!
In case you haven't seen them used or know how they work...I'll be doing a video very soon!!  But here is a picture in the mean time.

New Boards

Last week Laura and I updated the 3 boards I already had made.  This week I completed my fourth.  It's always a long task to do 14-15 cards that will consist of different styles, different stamps and designs.  Whew... I finished today.  Couldn't stop till I got it done!  Cinci here we come!!

Not far from Home

So last weekend (April 23 & 24) we were in Akron for Adventures in Stamping.  It was a great weekend.  Lots of friends stopped by to say hi, including some old TAC Angels who were having a get together on Sunday evening.  I couldn't go cuz #1 I was tired, #2 it was after a show and we had helpers that needed to get home and #3 I was tired. :O)  But it was good to talk with Yuki and Angi, and see Monica, Brenda and Rita.

If You Missed It!!

Our last coloring day was March 26.  We had a great time and Annette let us pick a picture from her coloring books by Pamela Smart.  If you go to Amazon she's listed under her name, PJC or Color Me Your Way.  I would love to have all these books for myself,  I would NEVER get them all done.  Annette doesn't like to do people so she gave this one to me.  I LOVE it!!  She is now framed and hanging in the store by the coloring books.

We always share hints and helps to questions you may have and it's a great time.  Our next Cookies and Color is April 23!!  You must sign up so we can guarantee you a spot.  Cookies and pages are supplied, but be sure to bring your favorite coloring utensils.

Cookies and Coloring

On the Saturday before Easter (March 26) we'll be having a Cookies and Coloring day.  I got an early start.  This is from one of the small coloring books that are so popular here at the store. I made a mistake in coloring the ribbon, but Copics are so forgiving that I fixed and you can barely tell!!  Check your calendar and join us for some fun and cookies (see class page on the website)!  I will be sharing some coloring secrets all day long. :O)

Spring is in the air!!

Oh I've been having so much fun making flowers!  I did some roses a few weeks ago and now I'm doing some that look like mums.  I guess I should have used fall colors. lol  Oh well there will be more on my list of fun.

Oh the Joy

For the last few days I've been doing shadow boxes with paper tole.  I really like the way they have turned out.  THEN yesterday I had leftovers.  Oh my.

Need a Break?

Laura and I went a couple a weeks ago and decided we wanted to share with our friends.  I know it's a long time off, but if you are interested book soon, there are only 12 spots open.  I am not making anything on this, just want to go and have a good time!!
Even if you just sit around and socialize it comes out to only $55 a night, which is cheaper than the hotel we used to go to.  You can eat yourself sick and it will all be for fun. :o)  Monthly payments will be accepted if you start now.

I've been planning our calendar for the next year and it's gonna be busy!  We have 7 conventions planned.  I hope you will be able to meet us for at least one!  Here is a list:
